In his career as a hospital administrator and health care industry executive throughout California, particularly in the San Francisco area, Ken Steele has achieved consistent success in revenue management and contract negotiations. Ken Steele first entered the health care industry as an Assistant Administrator at Encino Hospital Medical Center in Encino, California, a property of Hospital Corporation of America. Shortly thereafter, Ken Steele took on a new title at Encino Hospital Medical Center as Associate Administrator and worked in that position for two years.

Ken Steele's next position was Vice President of Professional Services at Marian Medical Center, after which he served as Marian Medical Center's Vice President of Managed Care. After nine years with Marian Medical Center, Ken Steele accepted a position as a Regional Director of Managed Care with Catholic Healthcare West of San Francisco. As a Regional Director, Ken Steele achieved a $6 million revenue improvement by renegotiating several hospitals' contracts with Aetna Inc. Ken Steele continued to improve hospital revenue as he advanced at Catholic Healthcare West, moving into a Vice President role in 1998. As Vice President of Managed Care for the Bay Area, Ken Steele took on regional responsibility for Catholic Healthcare West hospitals in San Francisco, Daly City, Redwood City, and San Jose.

In 2001, Ken Steele was chosen as the President of St. Mary's Medical Center in San Francisco, one of Catholic Healthcare West's premier facilities. Ken Steele took the position when the hospital was in the midst of a serious financial crisis and led the 403-bed facility in a rapid turnaround. Following seven years at St. Mary's Medical Center, Ken Steele moved back into a corporate position with Catholic Healthcare West, this time as Vice President of Managed Care. This position allows Ken Steele to continue his success in negotiations, as he is responsible for contracts with Aetna Inc., Blue Shield of California, and several other entities in and around the San Francisco area.

Ken Steele graduated from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, and later earned a Master's degree in Hospital and Health Services Administration from the same university. Ken Steele is active in his San Francisco community and enjoys playing sports with his two young sons.
